Vermont: Your Action Needed – Urge Governor to Veto Waiting Period Legislation

Yesterday, waiting period legislation S.169 was delivered to the desk of Governor Phil Scott for his consideration. It is very important that NRA Members and Second Amendment supporters contact Governor Scott at 802-828-3333 or by email and politely urge him to VETO S.169.

This bill would create a 24-hour waiting period on the purchase of handguns.  There is no evidence that waiting periods are effective.  This bill would essentially end gun shows and banquets by adding additional layers of big government red tape.  However, even more troubling, this legislation would put in jeopardy vulnerable individuals who have an urgent self-defense need by adding a time tax on their personal self-defense choices.

Again, please call 802-828-3333 or click the above “Take Action” button contact Governor Phil Scott and politely urge him to VETO S.169.
