The first lesson every politician should learn about managing a scandal is that when you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.
The Obama administration apparently has not learned that lesson as it relates to the embarrassment over the U.S. Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' "Fast and Furious" gun walking operation that went badly. The scheme to track trafficking of guns across the U.S. Mexico border was ended after guns were used in violent crimes on this side of the border.
