New Hampshire: Firearm Seizure Bill to Be Heard In Committee

New Hampshire: Firearm Seizure Bill to Be Heard In Committee

On May 7th, the New Hampshire Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a public hearing at 9:45 AM on House Bill 696, which would take away constitutional rights of individuals without due process.  Please contact committee members and urge them to OPPOSE HB 696.  Click the "Take Action" button below to contact members of the committee.

NRA members and second Amendment supporters are invited to attend this hearing in Room 100 of the State House at 9:45 AM on May 7th in order to express opposition to these bills.

House Bill 696, sponsored by Representative Renny Cushing (D-Rockingham 21), would violate an individual's constitutional rights and allow for the seizure of firearms with an ex parte order absent due process and without regard for the basis of the order.  Further, law enforcement would be immune from liability for any damage done to the firearms they seize.  If an order expires, an individual would have to go to court to have their constitutionally protected property returned to them, unlike when the court may have seized the property wrongfully.

Again, please click the “Take Action” button above to contact committee members and urge them to OPPOSE House Bill 696.  If you are able to, please attend this hearing to testify against this bill at 9:45 AM in Room 100 of the State House.
