Montana: Missoula City Council to Consider Banning Carry in Numerous City Locations

On Monday, October 15, the Missoula City Council is scheduled to consider a gun control ordinance that seeks to ban the carry of firearms in many locations, including vaguely-defined “public assemblies.”

This proposal is still a work in progress with multiple possible amendments coming from council members.  As currently proposed, the ordinance would ban the lawful carry of a firearm in parks, libraries, museums, polling places and so-called “public assemblies.”  The term “public assembly” is extremely vague in its definition and could potentially encompass most normal meetings of more than a single individual in public.

If you are able, please attend the Missoula City Council hearing and voice your opposition to this ordinance.  The meeting will be held this coming Monday at 7:00pm at the below location.  Plan to arrive early as seating will be limited.

City Council Chambers
140 West Pine Street
Missoula, MT

Also, please contact City Council members and voice your opposition to this ordinance.  Click the above “Take Action” button to communicate your concerns to the entire Council and be added to the public record in opposition to the proposed gun control ordinance.
