New Mexico: Albuquerque Public School Board to Punish JROTC Students by Playing Politics

Tonight, the Albuquerque Public School Board is scheduled to vote on a resolution that would put an end to any funding that its JROTC program can receive from the NRA Foundation.  Regardless of the School Board’s political leanings and opinion of Second Amendment rights, this move only punishes those students who are seeking to better themselves and their peers through the JROTC program.  The funding to be denied is raised locally and distributed by law-abiding residents of the Albuquerque area, and has helped to build JROTC into a program that strengthens character and leadership among today’s youth.
