East Ridge, Tenn., shop-owner, T.C. Faires, had taken to
sleeping in his shop because of attempted burglaries. Hearing a
noise at 3:30 A.M., Faires armed himself with a shotgun and went out
the front door around to the back of the store. There he found a
man trying to pry open a window with a screwdriver. Faires covered
the would-be burglar with his gun and took him to his nearby home
where his son called police.
